...........was a hectic one for us.
Picked up invitation cards from Seri Sireh at Jalan Brunei. Slightly higher for the price that I can get from MarryMe2u but what to do as Dell is on maternity leave. But she's so concern and sweet that after she delivered her baby, she emailed me asking whether I already found someone to do my card and if I still don't, she will do it for me as my card is a simple one to her. Like, how sweet and baik kan? Tapi masa tu dah bayar deposit la pulak..
Went to BAK tailor to pick up all three of H's baju Melayu for the wedding but only 2 were ready. Had verbal sparring (haha!) with BAK's workers over one of the baju Melayu. I was very pissed off because they didn't want to admit their mistakes at first. I may not know how to sew and make clothes but don't lie and tell me to my face that the measurement will shrink once it was dry cleaned. If the clothes will only fit once it's send to dry cleaning, why the need of the measurement? Might as well sew one that is freaking twice your size and send it to dry cleaning. Really, they had really the nerve to bullshit me. You don't bullshit anyone who's been watching Project Runway and reading crafty blog religiously. And especially a bride-to-be one. Bridezilla is on the loose, y'all!
I am very fussy when it comes to tailoring and that is why, to be on the safe side, I always stick to baju kurung. Jarang ada tailor nak messed up dengan baju kurung. Tapi ada la jugak yang buat baju kurung yang simple pun tak reti. Baik tak payah jadi tailor.
Lepas tu jalan-jalan dekat Semua House tengok crown and accessories. Future parents-in-law wanted me to wear a crown masa tandang jadi kitorang pun survey la harga. Man, it was so much fun trying out all the crowns. Terasa diva sangat pakai semua crown tu. Dari sebesar-besar sampailah sekecil-kecil crown aku pakai. Macam Miss Universe. Akak suka! Tepuk tangan semua.
Tapi tak beli pun. HAHAHA.
Alhamdullilah, the outing was a productive one sebab tudung untuk both reception dah beli. Aku tak tempah dekat Koleksi Vispera ke mana-mana custom made vendor sebab:
a) I do not wear such i.e tudung with awning style so it would be expensive to splurge on a custom made one.
b) Aku nak save duit. So I just bought a cheap one. HAHA.
Finding a off-white awning tudung was such a pain in the ass. It's either it's too white, like white white or it's beige, meaning too yellow-ish. Lucky I managed to find the perfect one in Hajaba (?) or Hajara (?). Ala kedai yang sama row dengan Ariani (depan Jakel) opposite Maybank tu. It fits nicely too for someone yang tak reti dan tak pernah pakai tudung awning macam aku ni. It is a lot cheaper than Ariani too. Personally, I think Ariani is overrated and awfully expensive.
Suka sangat sebab like I said, Alhamdulillah things are slowly coming together.
I was in Bridezilla mode with my caterer few weeks ago that I frantically shoot emails to Chenta Wedding (Sarah) and Ashylla inquiring about 20 pieces of white table cloths. You see, during our discussion some time in May, bila aku tanya ada tak alas meja putih, caterer tu cakap ada tapi diorang kalau boleh tak nak guna alas meja putih sebab cepat kotor. Tapi masa site visit, diorang cakap dekat parents aku takde pulak and they only have it in green, blue or red and will make use of whatever available during that time. Maksudnya kalau hijau je ada, jadi hijau la semua. Like WTF, man? Selamat korang aku takde masa tu. Kot tak sure dah kena marah dengan Bridezilla. My parents jenis yang tak kesah, so kira selamat la diorang. The thing is, aku jenis pegang pada janji and aku paling meluat, menyampah dan stress kalau orang cakap boleh, alih-alih cakap tak boleh. What the hell la, you don't tell me A and then tell me or do B.
After asking about 4 vendors, I gave up. December is peak season for weddings and events that it's even impossible for a caterer to let go their 20 white table cloths for a week. I totally understand and I appreciate all the feedback and concerns especially Sarah and Ashylla who I believe had done as best as they can. Thanks girls. But yeah, as I said previously - life isn't about always get what you want. So I had to suck it all up and move on.
Macamlah takde alas meja putih aku tak boleh kahwin kan?
