Salam Aidilfitri

I supposed everyone is heading to their respective hometown for Eid by now. Sebagai anak perantau (chewah, ayat tak boleh blah), H and I will be celebrating Eid this year in Oslo. We're celebrating it low key this year since we haven't really make any preparation for it. We're more excited on preparing for the baby, I guess and so far almost 90% of the checklist is completed. And for that, alhamdulillah.

This year also marks the second year that I didn't celebrate hari raya with my family. Last year's was H's turn and this year we're on neutral ground so insya Allah I'll be celebrating Eid with my family next year. If you were to ask me how does it feels not having to celebrate Eid with your own family, frankly, I don't know how to answer that. Alah tegal bisa biasa, kata orang because I've been away on my own since 2004. Bila lepas habis belajar in 2008, baru dapat merasa beraya dengan keluarga balik. But of course, nothing beats the feeling of being surrounded by your loved ones so absence does make the heart grows fonder.

In the spirit of Eid, I would like to wish all my readers,

Ramadhan

3 moose(s) hit it
Wow, time sure flies fast when you're having fun. It has been 2 weeks since we were back but that 2 weeks really felt like 2 days!

So many things to do, so little time.

It's the first day of Ramadhan and insya Allah, I'll try to fast as much as I can during this holy month. Muslims in Norway had started fasting yesterday (Friday) and from what I heard, it's 20 hours of fasting over there!

Can't update much as I would love to sebab nak spend time dengan family since we're going back in 2 weeks time. Till then,

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Al Mubarak. Semoga Ramadhan kali ini lebih bermakna dan dipenuhi barakah.

Happy birthday to a person who is smart, good looking, and funny and reminds me a lot of myself.

HAHA.

They say, your partner reflects of who you are so since you're all of the above, I'm guessing that I'm one too.

In the name of God, most Gracious, most Compassionate

Alhamdulillah. Praise to God.

I am in my second trimester and currently 13 weeks pregnant.

Lets do a recap on it, shall we?

I knew that something was up as my period was always on the dot and I was already a week late before I did the UPT. To confirm my suspicion, we bought the UPT home kit at nearby pharmacy. I did the test, took a shower and while I'm in the shower, H peeped in and asked what double pink lines mean. I grinned and excitedly told him that I'm pregnant. Blame the cliché breaking the I'm-pregnant news scenes as overly being depicted in the movie, I'd imagine that when our time finally comes, it would be a joyful celebration with us hugging and jumping with ecstasy but nada, we just stood there in the bathroom like a bunch of idiots, grinning from ear to ear. So much for ruining a romantic moment. Sorry baby but your parents are uncool like that, right from the moment we knew of your presence.

Then it's the breaking the news to the parents time. They knew about the news after like 5 minutes. Ok, I am exaggerating but they knew shortly afterwards. I planned to hold the news until I'm in my second trimester but H couldn't hold it any longer, so we made a phone call to both parents and we broke the news. They swore to secrecy but we highly doubted they will be able to do it. Ngeeh. But so far, I guess the news is a well kept secret as no one in the extended family know about it, yet.

And lastly, this is utterly disgusting and cheesy but sorry, can't help it.

Dear baby, in case many years later if you unluckily stumbled upon my blog, this is the proof of the UPT that I took to confirm your presence.

See that? Double pink lines at week 5

Surprised? I bet you do. Lol.

Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

4 moose(s) hit it
Assalammualaikum semua!

Puasa ni haruslah lebih ayu dan bersopan-santun (padahal tak pun!). Hiks. So how's your puasa so far? Mine was great, albeit a bit hectic and tired that most of the time, if I had it my way, I would pass out immediately after berbuka. But I have an ustaz husband in the house that would constantly preach me on the benefit of ibadah in Ramadhan that I am ashamed of myself if I don't perform my terawih prayer.

So I succumb. Well, that's one of the goodness in marriage, it makes you strive to be a better person. Insya Allah.

So I have started working at the new place. New job scope and new working environment. Although there are so much to learn I am liking it so far. I am praying that my eagerness in doing something new stays on. I think some of you already know that I am an engineer by qualification but so far I still haven't got any rezeki to be one. But I am keeping it positive because I have come to a point where I realize that God must have something special instilled for me in the future that I (may) not know of, yet.

Today is the 6th day of Ramadhan and I hope it's not too late to wish all of you happy fasting and hope that this year's Ramadhan will be filled with ibadah and barakah.

We're Much More Than Superficial Beauties!

May I have your attention please?

Will the real Slim Shady lady please stand up?
I repeat, will the real Slim Shady lady please stand up?
We're gonna have a problem here..

Eminem-The Real Slim Shady

Yes ladies, may I have your undivided attention please? I'm sure that y'all know about the war that is happening in Gaza right now. So I'm urging all of you to do whatever you can to if not stop, help those in needs i.e the Palestinian for they are our brothers and sisters in Islam. I'm sure we, educated and independent women of Malaysia can do something, right? Now is the time to prove that we're much more than make ups, hairs, superficial beauties, branded bags/clothes and shopaholics!

So, my dear readers, the plan is to boycott if not all, some products from Israel and its ally, the USA. I also like to quote our great ex-Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad for saying that we don't die if we don't drink its famous "red label soda", which is so true and I am a firm believer of small actions/steps do lead to a larger actions/steps.

The question is, are you ready to take that action/step?

Net-A-Porter: Free Shipping

0 moose(s) hit it

Dear ladies,

Net-A-Porter is having a free shipping, anywhere around the world! The offer valid only from Oct 6 till Oct 20. I must say that the prices are a little bit out of my league though. Although I'm (very) tempted to buy the Marc by Marc Jacobs' Faridah Shoulder Bag (priced at 228€), I think I'm just gonna pass. I'm saving my (own) hard earned money for something classic and timeless, like a Louis Vuitton or Chanel piece, rather than something trendy that naturally doesn't last long.

Don't you agree?
