Bridezilla Moose Is On The Loose

I have a confession.

I am a closetted bride-to-be.

Lately I've been reading a lot or other b2b blogs, exchanging infos and such. But I am shy and don't wanna to talk about it in my blog. I used to think that wedding planning is so tedious and meticulous. Well, turn out..it is!

Since meticulous and perfectionist is my middle name, you can imagine the things that's been cramming inside my brain. The date for the upcoming engagement has been shifted for I-don't-know-how many times. And it's stressing me out. I need a fix date so that I can (start) arrange the make-up, the decoration and whatsnot. Although it will be just an intimate and close ceremony only to be attended by close families, of course I want it to be perfect. I mean, who doesn't right? I'm planning on DIY-ing all the flower arrangements and hantarans. Gila gigih aku ni. Ingat Martha Steward ke? There'll be only like 3-5 hantarans for each side. So bolehlah aku DIY. Ngeh. Kalau berbelas-belas dulang tu mati akak noks! Tak koser u'ols.

The only thing that I will not pandai-pandai to DIY is the make-up. Memandangkan skill make-up aku hanya basic saje, maka sedarlah diri tu. (I think) I'll be hiring someone that one blogger that I contacted recomended. We'll see.

So far, nothing much has been done. We bought the ring and that's all about it. Oh I bought king size Jean Perry's bed sheet the other day at 70% off its original price and got some free king size white quilt somemore. What a bargain!

Originally I was planning on wearing a vintage songket labuh during the engagement. Yes, I'm a sucker for anything vintage. The theme would be very traditional, like zaman mak-mak or nenek-nenek kita. Tapi bukanlah theme mak nenek. Tu cerita lain. Turned out that beloved mom terlupa nak bawa balik grandma's vintage songket. Apakah? Padahal sudahku pesan awal-awal lagi. Isk isk.

So change of plan there. And H insisted on wearing his this year's raya baju melayu in very light salmon pink colour, which also very difficult to find a matching kain. After much search akhirnya berjumpa jua. Pejam mata jelah bila bayar dekat kaunter Gulatis tu. The SA pergi tunjuk aku kain yang RM138/meter. After aku yang very direct ni cakap mahal kuat-kuat depan dia, baru dia bagi kain yang affordable sikit. I'm not marrying some hot shot Datuk or rich guy ok. And I don't want to spend much money on wedding. Untuk apa? Kenduri tu sehari pun tak sampai, tapi berhabis berpuluh-puluh ribu. Lepas kahwin, ikat perut? I don't want that.

I prefer to stick with simple and moderate preparation. Kalau ikutkan hawa nafsu syaiton semua nak. Nak pom-pom la, chiavari chairs, transparent canopy, pelamin 5 panel fresh flowers, hantaran berdulang-dulang tapi kena ikut budget sendiri la. If you have the means and wanna splurge, up to you. It's your wedding anyway, but for me, that's just not my style.

We haven't decide yet what to give for the engagement but it will be basic things kot macam cake, fruits, chocs, you know stuffs like that. No barang-barang lain like kasut ke, kain ke..no. Not enough time untuk semakkan kepala fikir. I have only about a month to prepare, for God's sake!

Ok, ni baru preparation nak bertunang. Sudah menampak taring menjadi Bridezilla. Kalau preparation untuk wedding nanti, macam mana?
