Bulan Puasa
Puasa di bulan Ramadhan bukan sahaja mengajar kita menahan diri dari makan dan minum serta dari melakukan perbuatan yang boleh membatalkan puasa pada siang hari tetapi dalam konteks yang lebih luas lagi, berpuasa juga mengajar kita supaya menjadi seorang Muslim yang lebih baik.
Umat Islam digalakkan supaya memperbanyakkan amal ibadat sepanjang Ramadhan. Antaranya dengan membaca Al-Quran, solat tarawih dan bersedekah amal jariah. Namun harus diingatkan juga bahawa amalan-amalan ini bukan sahaja terhad untuk diamalkan semasa Ramadhan malah digalakkan menjadi amalan yang berterusan.
Mulut, mata, hati dan telinga adalah antara anggota badan yang perlu dijaga bagi menjamin Ramadhan kita mendapat keberkatan yang sepenuhnya dari Yang Maha Esa.
(Motif tetiba intro entry macam karangan BM untuk SPM? Nak revise balik ke-terer-an mendapat A1 untuk BM ke? Matilah berlagak dapat A1 katanye.)
Oleh itu uols, akak akan kurang menulis di dalam bulan puasa ni bagi menghormati kesucian bulan Ramadhan Al-Kareem.
(alasan la sangat, padahal takde cerita menarik pun!)
Aku malas nak buat preparation untuk kahwin lagi dah boleh? Tetiba macam terasa beria-ria pulak gigih buat preparation for 10 months (since the day we got engaged) for an event that last what, up to 5 hours tops? And not counting the amount of money, blood, sweat and tears involved. Lepas tu dapat apa? Medal? Awards? Recognition? Kenangan indah yang tidak boleh dilupakan? (Sangat macam biodata sekolah rendah) Orang pung-pang-pung-pang, tak sampai 2 minggu lepas tu orang lupa betapa grand or simple or even disaster your wedding was. Yes, was. Past tense.
SO . NOT . WORTH . IT

Hola Ladies!
Eh silap,
Salam ladies.
Wah bulan puasa ni haruslah akak bertukar menjadi ustazah jadian kejap. Hiks.
Hari ni dah masuk hari ke-2 kita berpuasa. How's your puasa so far? Mine Alhamdulillah doing fine. Iyela sudah masuk a quarter lebih sikit century ni haruslah sudah tabah berpuasa. Setakat godaan tengok blog letak gambar makanan tu apalah sangat. Lemah sangatlah iman kalau mudah tergoda.
This year marks the second year I'm fasting in Malaysia after spending good old 5 years abroad. Puasa di negara sendiri masakan sama puasa di negara orang. Like they said, home is where the heart is, kan? I still remember my first Ramadhan abroad. Ramadhan that year fall in October. As you know, Autumn or Fall falls in September till November (if you're on Northern Hemisphere). Sangat heaven masa tu. Berpuasa dalam keadaan dingin, sejuk dan masa berpuasa yang singkat! Believe me, around 5.45-6pm-ish sudah berbuka!
Tapi kali ni puasa jatuh dalam musim panas di mana waktu siang lebih panjang daripada biasa. Subuh masuk pukul 3 pagi. Maghrib pula pukul 9 malam. Gila kan? Semoga tabah menghadapi puasa tahun ini ye!
(HAHA. Gelak dekat junior. Eti, aku simpati. Hiks.)
I went back to my hometown last weekend. Didn't plan to but due to mommy dearest's request, sebagai anak yang solehah (gituh!) aku pun balik lah. The plan was to look for pelamin maker. I actually planning to DIY my own pelamin. Nothing extravagant. Something simple, sweet and modern. It's a safe take considering that most of the pelamin in Perlis is still in the 80's. Urrrggghh. When do these people gonna realize that their design is 20 years left behind? Seriously, people from Perlis are getting more and more exposed due to migrating, media exposure etc., jadi sebagai pelamin maker, you too have to educate yourself on the current trend and whatnot. Macam mana business nak maju kalau masih di takuk lama? Back to the DIY pelamin, mom is not really keen on DIY actually. But since I insist, kitorang pun dengan gigih mencari la mana-mana decorator yang boleh rent out the chair.
I specifically wanted a Cleopatra chair. No back stand (even if it has, it has to be minimal) and it has to be white. Something like this from Kerja Kahwin
Tapi bila tanya semua pun tak(nak) sewakan kerusi. Bulan 12 banyak orang nak pakai pelamin katanye. So diorang tak sewakan. So nak taknak, weols terpaksalah amik pakej pelamin (nan ado) tu. Survey punya survey, nasib baik I found one bridal boutique yang ok compared to the rest. Quite modern. Dalam portfolio siap ade previous work yang guna fresh flower (walaupun hanya 5 -10 batang sajork, yang lain-lain tu fern leaves yang Qistin tak suka tu. Hehe.) but that's better dari lain-lain pelamin maker yang recycle bunga plastic kejung tu banyak-banyak kali regardless of what's the wedding's theme colour.
Price-wise is of course out of my budget yang initial plan nak DIY ni. But one thing I like about the owner is that dia tak berkira and can take some of my questions into consideration. Aku ni haruslah kalau bertanya dan jumpa vendor tu lagak macam prosecutor. Ntah apsal pun taktau. Bakat terpendam kot. Heh. So, I might want to take her into consideration. Mommy dearest dah tanak survey-survey tempat lain dah. Nak terus amik akak tu. But I said no, not yet. Jadi some time during Ramadhan ni, I have to go back again for the sake of surveying another pelamin maker. Maybe in Jitra je kot since Alor Setar is too far. Nanti kena charge transportation segala.
Nikah favours dah lama settle. I think it's ok la for the price that I pay. Something religious tak perlu nak grand bagai. As long as it serve its purpose that's enough for me, insya Allah. Wedding favours pulak still pending. After months (ok tipu bukan months, tapi weeks je. HAHA) of surveying I found one supplier that offer the best price. Sudah bertanya tetapi masih belum order. My dateline is somewhere in September, right after Eid. It's a ready stock item so I do not have to worry about the availability. And since it's not something that got rotten and bad easily like eggs and other food stuff, I think September is just the right time to order. Insya Allah, I have ample time to add the "thank you tags" and ribbon tying later. And by November (at least) all DIY work must be done as I don't like last minute job, well except for hantaran and bridal bouquet which I am planning on DIY using fresh flowers.
Semua aku nak DIY, apa ko ingat ko tu Wonder Woman?

Ramadhan Al-Mubarak
Dear Readers,
SELAMAT MENYAMBUT RAMADHAN AL-MUBARAK!!
Semoga Ramadhan kali ini memberi seribu makna dan pengertian kepada kita semua. Dan semoga ibadah dan amalan kita pada bulan Ramadhan tahun ini lebih baik dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya.

Personally, I think in order to be a better Muslim, the absolute obstacle that you have to overcome does not come from Satan but it comes from you.
Yes, you.
Or at least in my case.
For years especially during Ramadhan, I secretly vowed that my Ramadhan and ibadah during that particular year would be better than previous. And every single day, I'd pray that I become a better Muslim. A Muslim that take care of her aurat, her ibadah and think of Allah in every single thing that she does. In other words, the kind of Muslim that Allah expects us to be.
Taking care of aurat is the biggest challenge for me. Or I believe so. I love swimming. I tried covering up when I swam but the feeling isn't the same. The extra cloth that clings to my body feels like a burden. Gosh, I sound like I'm making up excuses. See, didn't I tell you?
Terasa agak ironic bila Malaysia yang so-called Muslim country tidak mempunyai kolam renang khas untuk wanita atau hari-hari yang dikhaskan untuk wanita. Sedangkan Germany ada mengkhaskan 1 hari untuk wanita di kolam renang mereka. Maybe not all but it's available at their major cities. I know because I made some calls. Unfortunately it was 2 hours train journey from where I lived.
I love dressing up or sometimes down. There are times where I succumb to the inner devil by not covering properly. You know, 3-quarter sleeved shirt paired with skinny jeans? Tapi bertudung selendang. Kadang-kadang terasa malu dengan diri sendiri sebab tidak (mampu) menutup dan menjaga aurat dengan sempurna. Tapi masih tidak mampu berbuat demikian (i.e. menutup aurat dengan sempurna) kerana masih suka ber-skinny jeans. Sebab perasan kaki kurus dan panjang. Heh.
I know that there will be times for me to finally take care of my aurat. And I pray hard for the time to come. I even said to my fiance that I need his support when the time comes. I don't know about you but I find that women in black abaya or jubah are sexy (in their own way) and mysterious. And so pretty, masya Allah. Betul, tak tipu.

Trend Akhir Zaman: Sanggul Rambut Tinggi
I am still in no mood to blog but I thought I'd share this with you ladies.

Ada hadis rupanya psl sanggul tinggi tu...patut dah jd trend akhir zaman..

It's a trend nowadays that many muslim Malaysian women are into the new hijab wearing i.e. wearing a shawl-like syrian style hijab. I posted on my Fb status recently stating that I too, would want to wear the syrian women hijab style with high bun but unfortunately my hair is short thus cannot tie or do a bun at all.I also received few suggestions to buy fake buns online or at Arzu, KLCC.
I used to study in an arabic-medium school and had learned that when you wear tudung, you're not supposed to show any indication that your hair is long by tying your hair really high/do a bun until men can notice the presence of your long hair eventhough you wear your cover/hijab. That defeats the purpose of wearing a hijab.However, I can't remember the hukum whether it's haram or harus or makruh.
Being curious, I googled about this sanggul arab issue and found the hadith related:
Quote::
“ akan muncul dalam kalangan umatku di akhir zaman, kaum lelaki yang menunggang sambil duduk di atas pelana, lalu mereka turun di depan pintu-pintu masjid. Wanita-wanita mereka( isteri mereka atau anak perempuan), berpakaian tetapi seperti bertelanjang ( nipis&ketat). Di atas kepala mereka pula(wanita) terdapat bonggolan (sanggul atau tocang) seperti bonggol unta yang lemah gemalai. Oleh itu laknatlah mereka semua. Sesungguhnya mereka adalah wanita-wanita yang terlaknat”- hadith riwayat Ahmad, jil.2, ms. 223.
Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda:
Quote::
“dua golongan penghuni neraka yang mana aku sendiri belum pernah melihat keadaan mereka didunia: golongan yang membawa cemeti seperti seekor lembu lalu menggunakannya untuk memukul manusia dan juga kaum wanita yang berpakaian seperti bertelanjang, menggoyangkan badan dan berlenggang-lenggok, kepala mereka ada suatu seperti bonggol di kepala unta yang bergoyang-goyang. Mereka tentu tidak akan memasuki syurga atau mencium baunya sedangkan bau syurga itu dapat dihidu dari jarak perjalanan begitu dan begini”
–hadith riwayat Muslim. Hadith no 212-
I would say that I was tempted at first as I saw some women/celebraties/tv presenters looked really pretty wearing the syrian style hijab with high sanggul/bun. Sometimes, bila nak cantik, manusia selalu lupa pada hukum walaupon dah belajar.I am one of them. Bila nak buat benda jahat, laju je.
Anyway, in wearing hijab, niat perlukah menghalalkan cara? I dare not jatuhkan hukum or say that it is haram wearing the fake sanggul arab. However,at the moment, I'll just forget about buying the sanggul arab thingy.

It's either I forget the web where I read the hadith and I don't want people will get offended when I simply said this to their face, or rather their comment box, when I don't have the proof (in this case, the related hadith). Since the author already list down the hadith, only then I want to share this to all of you.
Jadi mana-mana b2b yang berniat hendak memakai style tudung sanggul tinggi, gunakan akal dan berfikirlah secara bijak.
