Goal

H and I had an interesting talk on short and long term goals the other day. We had come to an agreement that owning our own crib is our mutual long term goal. I then ranted on the importance of a short term goal as a token of validation to mark your own achievements.

For example, when I was doing my internship at a multi-national company some time ago, at the end of the internship, I bought myself a Swiss made watch. Simply because I wanted to reward myself for the hardwork. I was being taught that self-reward is a positive way to encourage you to achieve more. So every time I look at the watch, I'm reminded of my achievement and proud of it.

My darling husband however disagree with me. He believes that such short term goal is merely a distraction from achieving your ultimate goal.

Realizing that he would never agree on my view that short term goal is equally important, not even in million years, I then jokingly said to him;

"Well, if that's the case, then the long term goal is yours to fulfil. I'll fulfil my short term goal first"

I think he rest his case with me shortly afterwards.

Writer's note: As shallow as it might sound, yours truly short term goal is owning a Louis Vuitton Neverfull.
